Vasileios Drosos (PhD, NTUA)
He has been working under the PI’s supervision for more than 7 years, a period during which he has revealed a sincere devotion in earthquake engineering research. Apart from his PhD research, in which he investigated the nonlinear seismic response of soil deposits and piles, his research interests include the experimental investigation of soil structure systems subjected to earthquake loading or fault-induced ground deformations. Dr. Drosos has been the key assistant of the PI during the conception, design and construction of the Department for Experimental Simulation of Seismic Response of Soil-Structure Systems at the Soil Mechanics Laboratory at NTUA, while he has taken part in most of the experiments conducted therein so far. His participation in the project involves mainly the tasks described in WP5 and WP6.
