Rallis Kourkoulis (PhD, NTUA)

Holding a PhD Degree (2009) in the response of surface and piled foundations under landslide-induced large ground displacements (which was supervised by the PI), he has co-authored 12 journal papers and more than 30 papers in conference proceedings. Within the last several years, following the completion of his MSc Degree on Soil Mechanics and Engineering Seismology at Imperial College, London, he actively participated in seven major European Research Projects and in a substantial (given his young age) number of consulting projects. His research (besides his PhD) until today has focused on the investigation of Fault Rupture Soil Foundation Interaction and the non-linear seismic response of surface foundations. Having worked under the supervision of the PI for several years, he has vigorously demonstrated strong analytical skills as well as an outstanding ability to form part of a competent research team. His contribution to the project will mainly involve WP2, WP5, WP6 and WP7.
