Fani Gelagoti (PhD, NTUA)
Dr Gelagoti has recently (2010) completed her PhD under the supervision of the PI in the investigation of the Metaplastic Response of Frames on shallow Foundations, covering a wide area of the research envisaged in the framework of WP2, one of the key tasks of the project. Having completed her MSc on Mechanics Material and Computing at Carnegie Mellon University (USA), she has acquired profound competence in Computational Mechanics, which she has had the ability to manifest during her 4–years cooperation with the PI in the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics. Apart from her doctoral thesis interests, during this period Dr. Gelagoti successfully coped with several research tasks including the investigation of site effects in the modification of ground motion and the subsequent response of surface foundations. Her outstanding performance is corroborated by her co-authoring of 6 journal papers within the past 1.5 years. In addition to her work on WP2 she actively participates in WP5, WP6 and WP7.
